Who is Faiza? A Women Who Has Set High Benchmark In Music Industry

Faiza, a Toronto-based singer-songwriter originally from London, Ontario, has been a strong arm of diversity in the music industry. She is a Black woman, and she fought hard to gain the space that she deserves. Her recent EP, Audacity, was all about clear-eyed decision-making and shedding skin. Faiza refuses to be cosseted by romantic love, and instead pursues the hustle.

Faiza is a project manager and business analyst

As a woman in the tech industry, Faiza is passionate about improving women’s opportunities in Pakistan. She has experience teaching computer science at multiple universities, and founded an online community and coding bootcamp. She started a coding bootcamp program to help female students establish career paths

In December, Becca Rosenthal, a woman with a background in Middle East Studies, graduated from Hackbright’s coding academy. She hoped to use her new skills to land a job in the music industry. After graduating from Claremont McKenna College with a degree in Middle East studies, Becca completed a two-year fellowship at the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life in Jackson, Mississippi, and was ready to explore new career paths.

She started running a school after her mother passed away

Faiza, who began running a school after her mother passed away, has a compelling story to tell. She had lost her mother to cancer in 2012, and started a school with the help of friends and teachers. Since her mother passed away, she has worked tirelessly to ensure that the school is run as smoothly as possible. Faiza has had to deal with numerous obstacles in her life, including the fact that getting a visa is difficult.

She’s a singer-songwriter

Toronto-based R&B artist Faiza is a force to be reckoned with. Her new single, “Benchmark,” was produced by her birthday boy. Her sound is in conversation with her contemporaries and a broader musical history. Yet, she is also her own artist. Her new EP “Audacity” is a reflection of her own clear-eyed decision-making and fierce pursuit of hustle.

She’s a project manager

Faiza graduated from the University of South Africa in 2012 with a degree in Communications and Psychology. She then worked at Adams Campus Books, assisting with numerous book launches and serving customers with a warm smile. She was also a member of the Hot Docs-Blue Ice Docs Fund Reading Committee. The project management team for these events has grown substantially, and Faiza is excited to continue working in the music industry.
