How’s the music scene in your locale?
There isn’t one. We’re reaching beyond our limitations through the internet and starting to book shows out on the road again.
What is the best concert you have been to? What do you like most about playing live?
The best concert I’ve been to was to see the Canadian rock band, Rush. Three musicians, incredible musicianship, and staging. Performing live has always been where I feel most at home. To step up on stage, look over at my husband, Tommy playing guitar, and connect with the audience that is divine, is the greatest gift a musician can give/receive.
Is there a song on your latest CD release here that stands out as your personal favorite, and why?
Clockwork. This is one that really came to us easily, and makes my heart melt every time I listen to the track. I can’t wait to perform this live around the world.
How have you evolved as an artist over the last year?
A year ago, I didn’t think I’d ever be writing/recording/performing on an international level again. The pandemic and isolation really brought our world to a standstill. It was a time of taking inventory, digging through old work tapes, letting the creative spirit flow in a new direction, and rediscovering my voice. I truly believe all this has come through in an organic and honest performance on the new album.
If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, have a drink with any band or artist (dead or alive) who would it be?
Dolly Parton. Can you make that happen?
What’s next for you?
We’re releasing the new single, Go Your Own Way in June 2022, followed by the EP, With Love in the summer, looking forward to booking some great concerts, and finishing my next children’s book in the Jake The Road Dawg series.
