Latin Grammy Winner Dale Edward Chung has worked with many groups and artists over his storied career. He recently released his second single “The Love Game,” on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. The song is the follow-up single to “It’s Over” released in April. “The Love Game” is a smooth sexy retro soul/r&b groove featuring Saxophonist Katja Rieckermann from Rod Stewarts’ band. It is a dual release with the radio edit and the extended play version. A music video for the single premiered on YouTube on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

Chung is a former member of the classic r&b funk group Con Funk Shun and regularly plays at the Whisky a Go Go as the resident percussionist for the Ultimate Jam Nights. As an actor, he starred in the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award-winning film “Unspoken” in the early 2000s and a handful of commercials and films since.

Along with Katja on Sax, “The Love Game” features notable musicians Randy Cooke on Drums. Cooke worked with Ringo Starr, Dave Stewart, Smash Mouth, and Colbie Caillat. Poliana Magalhães on Bass. Magalhães currently works with Adam Lambert and Willow Smith. Rocio Marron on Violins and Violas. Marron is from the 2x Grammy-winning Mariachi Divas and is a first-call musician for film and TV. She regularly appears on The Voice, The Academy Awards, The Grammys and is the violin soloist on the Coco soundtrack. Joe Cruz on Guitar. Cruz has worked with Sarah McLachlan and Carly Rae Jepson.

Originally from Oakland, now based in Los Angeles, Chung began his professional musical journey in the 1990s San Francisco Acid Jazz scene. The scene was a mixture of live music and DJs and Chung worked with such notable DJs as Julius Papp, J-Jay, Jellybear, and DJ EFX.

His first single and short film music video, “It’s Over,” is gaining plays on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and YouTube. The film is being submitted to the film festival circuit.

Chung is a board member of the David Z Foundation, which raises money for music education for students in need. He also serves on the Advocacy Committee of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Recording Academy (The Grammys).
