10 Things You Didn’t Know about the Instagram Star Jake Latimore Miller

As part of our series spotlighting stars, I had the pleasure of speaking to Jake Latimore Miller.

Jacob N zi ya, popularly known as Jake Latimore Miller is an unconventional content creator and Instagram trailblazer. He’s the mastermind behind the writing, directing, production, and editing of all his videos. His goal is to become the “greatest director of his generation.” Jake started his journey by featuring in a school play at 13 and later, collaborating on Instagram videos with his friend, Abanoub Khalil.

Jake’s resilience paid off, as he soon gained over 2 millions organic followers. He also transitioned to creating Youtube videos and short films. Establishing his online presence, Jake now has about 2.5 million followers across all platforms, and about 250 million impressions.

Q- We’re excited to have you here. Can you tell us about some interesting projects you’re working on?

A- Thank you. I’m working on an adaptation of some of Liam John Neeson’s mystery action- thriller movies. He’s a huge inspiration to me. Also, I have an original French psychological love story in the works, as well as a horror story, and I promise your minds will be blown.

Q-Your videos represent diversity. Can you share with us three reasons why it’s important to have diversity n film and television?

A- I believe diversity is important to ensure there’s an interrelation between cultures. Diversity encourages inclusion and inclusion helps to inspire the next generation. When we have representation, it changes our worldview, which can be very impactful in our world.

Q- Can you mention 5 things you wish someone told you when you started.

A- One, take a break. Two, remain focused. Three, consistency and hard work are a perfect blend if you’re committed to your art. Four, set your boundaries so you can break through them. Five, dream big. Never put yourself in a box, and don’t be afraid to take bold strides in life.

Q- Recommend tips that can help people in your industry thrive and avoid burnout.

A- Be optimistic. Stay true to yourself. Have faith in your craft. Be consistent and never back down from a challenge.

A- I’ll tag the movement “Always be optimistic, stay focused and have faith.” I believe in spreading inspiration and optimism to the world because it yields impact. When the going gets tough and you remain optimistic, you’ll achieve your goals.

Q-Tell us your favorite quote and how it applies to your life.

A- Never give up. It’s a lesson from my mother, Assata Kone who made sacrifices for her kids to be successful. Believe in yourself, be relentless in chasing your goals and you’ll become a strong force. That’s how I achieved my goals, and it keeps me going.

Q- Who’s the one person you’d love to have a private breakfast with? And why?

A- Denzel Washington. He’s such an inspiration and motivation to me.
