Last month Jujhar group headed by Chairman S Gurdeep Singh, headquartered in Ludhiana, Punjab expanded their operations in the field of hospitality by investing in Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Amritsar. This group has an attractive market holding in many fields with an impressive customer base in developing sectors like Broadband, Logistics, Media, Entertainment, Real Estate, News channels, and Infrastructure. Now the group is expanding its operations in other areas also.

The acquisition of this almost five-year-old Fairfield property was done directly by the owner of the property which is Fairfield Marriott ASR. According to the experts, acquiring this 4-star property can help the group to get a tight grip on other services too. This property is considered the one of best properties for both business and leisure travelers in Amritsar because of its location and the world-class award-winning customer services they provide, having over 130 rooms. Fairfield is located near the airport, railway station, and other world-famous landmarks like Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Wagah Border.

The Jujhar Group is looking to enter the business of hospitality with 100% acquisition. In an interview, Singh said that “Amritsar receives almost 1 lakh tourists per day, and it receives nearly 1.5 lakh tourists on the weekends”. We are working on expanding and providing world-class service to our customers and reconstructing the entire property in phases. Further, he added that in the upcoming days we will think about taking and launching other properties and will expand our services in the growing hospitality market in India.

Jujhar group purchased this world-class property at the time when the Indian hospitality market was recovering from the losses of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the restrictions on traveling came to an end with mass vaccinations allowing tourists to come and explore places. The hospitality industry will grow at a rapid rate in the next 5 years, it is expected to touch the US$125 billion in market valuation. Looking at the immense growth of this industry, the acquisition of Fairfield by Marriott can be the biggest game-changer for the group.

Fairfield by Marriott is a franchise of one of the biggest midscale hotel brands of Marriott International. The primary target of the hotel is to provide higher services at a very cheap price. The price of the room is kept low with a lot of facilities like standardized building architecture and bedding, but there is the absence of a full-day service restaurant, but it provides a complimentary hot breakfast.
