April 2022 – lilintern is an artist who loves to bring innovation and unique creativity to his music. He has recently released a brand new studio EP named Lost In The Algorithm (error). Not only is this record a great example of the broad range of influences the fuel this project, but it’s also a very diverse listening experience that creates a really innovative take on rap music. The EP features six songs, including the opener, “Not A Star.” This track starts with a fat analog sounding bass line, which immediately brings so much depth. The drum beat has a slow, brooding and heavy feel to it, perfectly matching with the artist’s melodic flow, which is energetic, yet catchy at the same time. The second song, “Uber Outside,” is an absolute banger, and one of the highlights of the EP with its raw energy and unique vibe. The beat is more edgy and fast-paced, but the background melodies are charming and cinematic, providing a lush sense of depth to the mix. The song “Let It Go” also kicks off with a huge atmospheric tone, and it has one of the catchiest beats that you’ll find on this release. “Interluv” is sort of the perfect “middle of the EP” type of track, as it offers a change of pace and a very immersive sound. “Take Offf” has a unique vibe, with a guitar-based melody driving the song, and a trap-inspired drum pattern. The vocals are immediately memorable and unique, and they feel incredibly special and dynamic. Last, but definitely not least, “Lost in The Vapors” is another amazing track, and a perfect curtain closer for this amazing studio EP.
This one comes highly recommended if you like artists such as Juice WRLD, Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, Drake or Joey Bada$$, only to mention a few.
