“The Good Fight” Sets Actor John Slatterly for Season Six

Boston, Massachusetts native John Slatterly has been around quite a long time as an actor. Of course, everyone knows him today primarily through his celebrated performance as Roger Sterling in AMC’s classic series Mad Men, but this thespian’s trail runs hot all the way back to 1988 when he made his first onscreen appearance as the character of Leeds in TV’s film-to-series adaptation of The Dirty Dozen. Ye olde scribbler of pop culture words first scoped out the dope on Slatterly when he dropped into a fun little ABC series from the early 1990s called Homefront. In his role as Union organizer with an Irish heart of gold Al Kahn, Slatterly was irresistible and compelling and he positively lit up the screen with his costar Wendy Phillips. For years after, I raved to anyone within earshot about Slatterly, but it was really only with his ascent into stardom in Mad Men that anyone really took any significant notice. Now, everyone knows the remarkable acting skills of John Slatterly, and his fans are legion.

One group of those fans of Emmy-nominated Slatterly are the creative masterminds behind the popular series The Good Fight. According to our God’s Pocket fans over at The Hollywood Reporter, those selfsame mensch’s have landed the Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights star for a recurring role in the impending sixth season of the series.

For those not in the know, The Good Fight is a Paramount+ legal drama of the highest order which is also a spinoff of The Good Wife and features some of the same characters as carryover. Word ‘round campfire has it that Slatterly will be joining the cast as a character that assists Baranski’s signature character of Diane Lockhart.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have the enormously talented, usually-too-busy John Slatterly join the cast,” Good Fight co-visionary creators Robert and Michelle King exhorted in a press release. “We feel like we’ve been chasing him forever.”
