“Full House” Alum Candace Cameron Bure Inks Major Deal with GAC Media

No longer content to merely be touted as “Kirk Cameron’s little sister,” former child star Candace Cameron Bure  -known professionally as D.J. Tanner from Full House fame – has just signed a lucrative contract with industry powerhouse GAC Media, according to our To Grandmother’s House We Go aficionados over at Variety.

The jaw-dropping deal for Bure, a reigning queen of schmaltzy yet subversive Hallmark Christmas movies, would see the No One Would Tell star in the role of developing and producing original material courtesy of her production shingle Candy Rock Entertainment. As part of the deal, Bure will also be charged with creating ‘round the clock seasonal celebration shows, movies and specials. If that’s not enough to put some wind in the budding entrepreneur’s sails, then how about this added feather in her cap: Bure will have an influential hand in GAC Family and GAC Living’s annual Great American Christmas.

In a press release announcing the new deal, GAC Media Big Wheel Bill Abbot said that “Candace is adored by generations of fans as one of family entertainment’s most cherished and relatable stars. She has helped build this genre into the mainstream success it is today, and I look forward to working together at GAC Media as we further establish our brands as leaders in quality family programming. I am truly honored that she has chosen to be a part of and help curate her special brand of family entertainment here at Great American Channels.”

You might wonder how Ms. Bure could possibly respond in any adequate manner to such accolades and laurels. Believe us, she tried:

“I’m very excited to develop heartwarming family and faith-filled programming and make the kind of stories my family and I love to watch. I am constantly looking for ways that I can inspire people to live life with purpose…GAC fits my brand perfectly; we share a vision of creating compelling wholesome content for an audience who wants to watch programming for and with the whole family. Great, quality entertainment with a positive message is what my partnership with GAC is all about.”

The deal between Bure and GAC feels like a solid and sensible one: The star of over twenty Hallmark movies, if anyone knows the pulse of the family market, it’s Candace Cameron Bure!
