Why Split Testing Is Important in Facebook Ads

Split testing allows you to compare the performance of two or more variations of your ads. You can test different ad creative, audiences, placements and even bidding options. When you run a split test on an ad set, it creates a new ad set with one of the variants you’ve selected.

You can test two ad sets at once if you want to control which variables are being tested. The results will be based on your selected objectives for your campaign.

Why is split testing important?

When it comes to Facebook ads at firstpage.com.au, it’s not about how much you spend but rather how much you get from what you spend. It’s easy to get caught up on the amount of money that went down the drain when you see your ads aren’t giving you enough returns. If you’re not careful and don’t check whether they’re working, then they just might be useless and a waste of time and money.

The good thing is that Facebook can help us make our ads perform better by providing us with its split testing feature. Here are some reasons why split testing is important in Facebook advertising:

It doesn’t cost much

It does not cost much to split test your Facebook ads. In fact, the actual cost of testing is minimal when compared to other forms of testing methods such as focus groups, surveys or other types of research. The only requirement for running Facebook ad tests is that you have at least two ads in your campaign at any one time. This means that you start with a baseline ad and then you create another similar ad in your campaign but with one change in the copy or image (for example). Both ads will be shown to users and the one that performs better will be the winner!

You can improve your conversions

When you split test, over time, you’ll be able to identify what gets the most engagement and improves conversions. For example, if you offer an online course and want to see which of two ads produces more signups for your course, then set up a split test to run for a few days or weeks. Once the test is completed, look at the data and select the winning ad.

You can improve your overall ROI

By improving your conversions, you’ll get more sales from each one of your ads, which will improve your return on investment (ROI). If you’re not familiar with this term it means how much money you make compared to how much money you spend on advertising. A high ROI means that every $1 you spent on advertising returned $3 or more in sales.

Split testing is one of the most important aspects of marketing. When you run a split test on your Facebook ads, you can determine which version gets you the most bang for your buck. You can also see which ad has the most potential for better conversions by testing the key components of your ad.
