Musical Differences Brought Two Brothers Together To Make Genre-Blending Band, Gus McArthur

As you grow older and time passes family can drift apart. When you become your own adult it’s normal to seek independence from familiar environments and set your sights on new things. For brothers Honan and Goran, they traveled separate paths to begin their respective journeys. It was their love for different music and their band, Gus McArthur, that brought the brothers together again.

Honan began playing the guitar and writing songs at about 16 years old. A talented vocalist and instrumentalist, Honan spent his time composing music and learning new techniques in music theory. Goran’s journey starts around the same age when he began writing poetry and creating his own beats. This lead him to releasing hip-hop projects under another moniker. After years of pushing solo careers, the two brothers decided to join forces and use their knowledge to bring two genres together in their rock project Gus McArthur.

Their blend of metal and rap is synergetic, art built from a bond that can only be created by family. With a growing discography, Gus McArthur is noted for their energetic singles like 2020’s “Both Eyes Closed”. With the pandemic restrictions letting up, the band of brothers is planning on making 2022 a landmark year with festival performances line up and playlist placements rolling in.
