This week, I am recommending a movie bingeing session on Paramount+. Why? Because of Daniel Day-Lewis. Let me explain. Day-Lewis’ father Cecil is Irish, and DDL has played a couple notable Irishmen over the years. With St. Patrick’s Day around the corner, Irish eyes are smiling on my movie recommendations. If you are going to watch a Daniel Day-Lewis movie, make it There Will Be Blood, one of the best movies ever made. It’s on Paramount+. That’s how I got here.
I’d say start with There Will Be Blood. It’s a great movie, if not a romp. You can enjoy some real quality cinema to begin your evening, and then move on from there. What next? Well, Daniel Plainview is a driven man who will go to the ends of the Earth to get what he wants. You know who else is like that? Indiana Jones. Follow up There Will Be Blood with Raiders of the Lost Ark. It’s a little lighter, but still a really good movie. A nice middle film in this movie night. Also, both of these movies were nominated for Best Picture.

What next? Do I stay on theme. I have decided to, sort of. Since Raiders is an action film, I decided to go with another action movie. That’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout. It’s the most-recent of the Mission: Impossible movies. It’s not the best, but it’s really good. Also, it can help you prepare for when the next film in the series comes out.
Or you can do what a lot of people are apparently doing on Paramount+: Rewatching all the Jackass movies. I will politely decline doing that.
