“VENTS Magazine had the pleasure of interviewing Norman Alexander where he talked all about her musical journey and style, the meaning behind “The Reason”, and the story of its music video. You can read that interview below.
Can you tell us about your feelings behind “The Reason”?
Speaking about the feelings behind the new single “The Reason”, Norman Alexander shared, “It was like throwing myself into a sea full of waves. I wanted to stay honest in my words and true to the story I was telling, so I forced myself to relive it over and over again.”
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “The Reason”?
“The Reason” was written in a moment of sorrow and pain–and it reflects some serious moments and thoughts. I have sung this song with very deep emotions which this song actually demanded.
Why the music video of “The Reason” is sad?
The song was a way to reflect some pure and pent-up emotions. People who have seen the video say that they get seriously emotional. The fire, the smoke, the water, and the dark mode of the video are all well thought of and represent the mode of song. Had it been made in a colorful manner its all charm had vanished.
What do you take from your song as for your own self?
This song has become a favorite of mine. I love singing it and even listening to it. I feel proud when I see others enjoying this song and listening to my new single “The Reason” while their eyes are closed and I have seen people with tears coming out of their eyes while listening to “The Reason” and this fact is making the song even more popular.
What message do you think that “The Reason” gives to the audience?
The very first message it gives is that everyone has a right to remain sad and express his emotions in a way one wants. The important message it gives is that it is always not others who are wrong even you can be wrong as well and if you are wrong you should ask yourself where you went wrong.
What’s next for you after “The Reason”?
Well, I am not planning to slow down the pace at all. There is so much to do. I am actively working on writing more songs for my fans and shooting more videos. MLife and I are cooperating on an upcoming project with TedxWaterStreet/NASDAQ together with the singer Annabel Oreste. Lookout for that show on May 4th 2022 at the IPic Theatre Nyc. I am definitely looking forward to that personally. It’s an exciting project.
What are your future plans?
My label and I are working on a summer tour. There are possibilities on opening for Dean Lewis,John Mayer, and others. I am also working on an EP. As you can see, 2022 is starting out to be a very busy year. So, stay tuned, there is a lot of excitement as MLife Music Group continues to support my goal and vision.
