Ventsmagazine Interview with Pj Baker

Hello, Mr. PJ Baker! Can you describe your experience in the industry?

My experience in this industry has been nothing but excitement and love. I enjoy people asking me how to achieve goals and what it takes to do so.

Tell us how you keep your fitness training knowledge up to date. What is the source?

My source is other people listening and learning from peers that have been in the industry for a long time and people who may have just started as well. Because you never know who you can learn from. I also read a lot and pay attention a lot to the human body as well.

What do you think your greatest strength is?

I think my greatest strength has to be 100 percent my mind. I feel that’s the first and major muscle that you have to train first in order to achieve any goal in life.

Do you set fitness objectives for yourself? If so, what exactly are they?

No, I really don’t set any fitness objectives for myself. I feel once I do that then I will get complacent and comfortable when I reach that objective. I just love fitness because it makes me feel good and it’s a way of life. It’s one major part in my life that I love to do and also help others achieve their objectives they may have for themselves.

You are doing amazingly well as a fitness model. Why did you decide to become a fitness trainer?

I just feel it goes hand to hand. I am a model for fitness, a walking billboard to show others that they can do anything to achieve their fitness goals with a hard work and a strong mindset, anything is possible,

What can you tell us about your training style?

My training style is basically based on how your body may feel that day. I feel you always have to be in tune with yourself and listen to your body. I know when I can turn it up in a training session and/or slow it down based on how my body is feeling. So during sessions when I am helping individuals I will ask them how their body is feeling while we are stretching and paying attention to their body so I know how that session is going to go.

How essential is nutrition to you when developing a regimen for a client?

Nutrition is one of the major keys to fitness. It’s a part of living a healthy lifestyle. And it can go by what you want your overall fitness goal to be. But yes nutrition is a big essential to fitness.

Imagine a customer feels disheartened during a training session. How do you keep that individual motivated?

I keep them motivated by first letting them know that they can do it. Just gotta take and push through one exercise and set at a time and when the session is over you will feel better because you accomplished something that you may have thought you would have not accomplished, but you’re one more step closer to your goal by finishing then being one step behind by not finishing and giving up.

How will you track the progress of any client?

I can track them by seeing if their body is transforming the right way according to the individual’s goal. And by seeing how they perform in each training session. I may also tell them to take pictures each month for self awareness so that they can keep a mental and visual note of their progress and journey.

Lastly, what advice would you like to share with our audience?

I would like to thank everyone for taking the time out of their busy day to read this article. I appreciate everyone and I hope you enjoy and continue to support this journey. I also want to let everyone know to stay on the lookout for the LiveFree apparel that me and my business partner has coming soon. Live free is a brand for all to feel good and to achieve and get through tough times one must have in life. And for anyone that wants to keep up with me or contact me you can do so on Instagram @iambakerfitness for mental coaching, training, or if you need modeling.
