Filligar has a prolific recording catalog heralded by some of the most influential musicians, journalists, and cultural outposts. Over the past eight years, the United States Department of State has designated the band as cultural ambassadors — sending them six times on tours to perform worldwide as emissaries of American arts and aspirations.

Today, the band released the lyric video for the song, “At Sea,” from the forthcoming album. WATCH HERE

Johnny Mathias (guitar/vocals) states, “The original idea for “At Sea” lived on Casey’s hard drive for a while before we revisited it as we set out to write the album. We took what was a short recording, structured it out, and added words—all done while sitting in our separate rooms on opposite sides of Los Angeles during the height of the pandemic.”

The lyric video was created by the band’s bassist, Teddy Mathias, who comments about the process, “The video draws inspiration from the lyrics. The scene was designed and animated using the Unity game engine — creating an environment full of life and light that evolves with the sentiments of the song.”

Filligar is Casey Gibson (piano/keys) and the Mathias brothers: Johnny (guitar/vocals), Teddy (bass), and Pete (drums). Together, they have produced a music catalog of over ninety original songs celebrated as a “breath of fresh air” by Consequence of Sound and “of prestige value” by The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).

They have recorded at hallmark analog studios (Gravity Studios, Electrical Audio), sold out the nation’s top music venues (LA’s Troubadour, NYC’s Bowery Ballroom, DC’s Wolf Trap, and Chicago’s Lincoln Hall) and supported GRAMMY-winning artists such as Counting Crows on their Outlaw Roadshow national tour, Alabama Shakes, and The Black Keys.
