It is always wonderful to know and learn about all those individuals who make sure to clinch excellence before securing success. This attitude has helped some of them create their unique niche even amidst competitive industries, especially in the world of sports. More and more youngsters have come forward as sports personalities and made their mark as true-blue players. Doing exactly that in the sport of baseball is a young 18-year-old named Nick Burney.

Who is Nick Burney, you wonder? Well, this young lad is all about his passion for baseball serving as one of the finest players in the US, showing his excellence as a left-hand pitcher, playing for the Texas Rangers Organization. He hails from New York and, since the age of three, began playing Tee ball. His love for baseball grew from an early age. Recalling his earlier days, Nick Burney says that he started as an outfielder because of his agility and quickness; however, his coach needed another pitcher for their next game, and that’s when he entered the picture as a pitcher. This was when he realized he was made to be a baseball player and nothing less than a pitcher.

On asking what makes him unique in the sporting world, Nick Burney replies, saying that he is a hard-throwing left-handed pitcher (95 MPH) and also has a very good changeup and curveball to make the fastball seem much faster, keeping the batters on their toes. However, challenges were also a part of his journey, where he was considered to be this tall and skinny guy because of which his skills would get overlooked. He was even cut from many travel teams because they thought his skill was already at its peak and that with age, he wouldn’t improve with others. Apart from that, an injury also took a lot of time from his progress.

Today, he has to his name many accolades, including signing the 3rd biggest rookie contract, playing D1 college ball at Alabama, and much more. In the near future, Nick Burney sees himself winning the CY Young Award, being the #1 in the pitching rotation, and being the best pitcher, he could possibly be physically and mentally.
