Upcoming Thriller “Nightshade” Acquired by SP Releasing Studio

Combine actor Lou Ferrigno Jr. (son of The Incredible Hulk himself, Lou Sr.), Starship Troopers alum Dina Meyer and add a little dash of Lost Boys and Wayward Pines star Jason Patrick and what does that give you? According to our groovy buddies over at film site Deadline, one hell of a crackling thriller entitled Nightshade.

Set to make its worldwide premiere in North American theaters and on Video On Demand platforms this January 4, Nightshade is about a private dick by the name of Ben Hayes (Lou Ferrigno Jr.) who has been suffering through a disturbing series of nightmares whilst on the trail of a serial killer. Unable to shake his disturbing nighttime visions, Hayes seeks out the help of a hypnotherapist and psychiatrist (Dina Meyer) in the hopes of alleviating his turmoil. What he discovers instead are impossible to question similarities between his nightmares and the evil killer he’s in hot pursuit of. As the killings mount and Ben risks losing himself and everyone he knows and loves, can our intrepid hero unlock all of the mysteries that lay in front of him?

Directed and co-written by Landon Williams (SuperZero, Anabolic Life) alongside Sarah Smith-Williams, Nightshade has found a comfy fit with production house SP Releasing which has captured worldwide rights to what is being described as a psychological thriller.

Filling out the already stellar cast are fellow thespians Tim Russ of Star Trek: Voyager fame, B.J. Britt (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), James Duvall (Donnie Darko), Kenzie Dalton (Driven) and Jaime Gallagher (Pandemic). Production shingles Primitive Mind Productions, Audacious Dreamer Productions and Blue Bow Tie Productions have all assembled their collective business acumen and savvy in order to bring all of us Nightshade. Not to be left out in the cold, Ferrigno Jr., Williams, and Gallagher all share a producing credit for the new movie alongside Sarah Smith-Williams, Casey Krehbiel and Forest Robin. Carlos Sanchez will executive produce.

In a press release, SP Releasing Big Wheel Steven Paul said that “We are thrilled to release Nightshade. I hope the audience pays close attention to the details – most viewers have not been able to guess the ending so far.” Challenge accepted, Mr. Paul.

Clocking in at precisely one hour and thirty minutes, Nightshade looks to be a taut and riveting thriller. Go check ‘em out – and tell them Vents sent you!
