Global Artist Spotlight: Karina Vilena’s Single ‘Good Kind Of Crazy’

The Music industry has welcomed more genres of music as it continues to reach new people despite growing complexities in a post-covid world. Ticket sales are projected to increase to $38 billion by the year 2030. With an influx of new artists hoping to sign with record labels, there are some who still prefer to remain independent, and despite facing a lesser probability of success, some rise to the challenge and develop into renowned artists, heard by millions of eager listeners across the world.

Karına Vılena, an independent artist, has her own way of mashing challenges and reaching ears, uploading her music through various social platforms, including a music video on Youtube of her latest single, ‘Good Kind of Crazy’, and we like what we hear.

The team behind Vilena’s music includes grammy-winning producer ED Thomas, who has been the orchestrator of several top 10 hits in the United Kingdom, and has played an integral the production of  “good king of crazy.”

Vilena’s says her inspiration comes from her desire to express genuine ideas through her music. She adds “I wanted to develop a real connection with my listeners and make them feel real emotions through my music including love, passion, joy, and all the things that make life beautiful and worth living”

Vılena is an artist with a unique music palette and her music takes a neoteric spin on retro hits and also compares to some songs from Lana del Ray and Sabrina Claudio.

Moldovian by birth, Vilena grew up in Northern Cyprus – the Turkish side of the border. The cultural immersions she experienced moulded much of music taste.

Vilena insists “Music has no borders, experiencing and living among various cultures, I began to understand that our differences are only on the surface and that good harmony and authentic music can unite different people from races and languages”

Her music career began in 2018 when she sıgned a 2-year contract as a developmental artist with The Foundry Studios founded by Chris Palmer.

Vilena says that during this time she gained invaluable experience, fine-tuned her “sound” and her understanding of the industry.

Now, Vilena is an independent artist and has assembled a highly capable team, which includes producer ED Thomas and video producer, Alex Stlinovski.

Before releasing her fırst sıngle, whıch has received thousands of views across varıous social platforms thus far, Vılena was uncertaın music would be her life’s calling.

“Growing up on a small island, most people are content with a “secure” job. I didn’t have access to music schools or professional training but I was determined to follow my dreams and have learned to make my music no matter the challenges I face”

Vilena’s debut is a testament to her hard work and how a small town girl can contend on the global stage.

As more people tune in and listen to different types of genres, music from artists like Karina Vilena could be their next favorite song. It’s only a matter of time before we hear more from her.
