PREMIERE: Sonia Stein Releases New Single “Bucket List”

The last couple of years have been busy for singer-songwriter Sonia Stein as she finished up a sold out World Tour with global acclaimed artist DIDO at the end of 2019. In addition to the release of her EP See Me Now at the start of 2020 with long-time collaborator producer Liam Howe (FKA Twigs, Adele, Jessie Ware). See Me Now was a perfect showcase of Sonia’s song writing and extensive vocal range that fans across the globe have come to love, which included hit single “London Used to Feel So Cool” and “Coexist” produced by Brendan Davies (Dagny, Jordan Mackampa, Bryde) and “Passerby” produced by Liam Howe (FKA Twigs, Adele, Jessie Ware). Then Sonia finished the year with the release of her Letters EP, during lockdown in the UK, which included singles “Philosophical,” “Bad Dream,” “Never Leave You,” “Letters To You” and “Pain In The Ass.”  Now Sonia is following up in 2021 with a series titled Stein Away Sessions in which Sonia plans to take her performances on tour but instead of playing in traditional venues full of fans, Stein will be bringing her bright yellow piano on a nature tour, playing in unique locations each time highlighting Stein’s musical talent alongside the beauty of nature. The Stein Away Sessions serieswill feature a total of 15 sessions from Sonia including new music as well as songs from her back catalogue like “Philosophical” and “Letters To You” as well as some covers.

Today we are pleased to join forces for the premiere of her new single “Bucket List”, a haunting and catchy tune filled with georgeous, etheral vocals accompanied by a very minimalistic but equally infectious music.

About the song, Stein comments “Bucket List is about holding onto the hope of what something could be rather than seeing what’s there. I was inspired by hearing someone defining nostalgia as “holding onto the way things never were” and it made me immediately write the poem that became the first verse. It’s about a relationship that just isn’t good, it never was, but somehow there’s this imagined potential based on nothing but hope itself that it might be one day be better”
