Operating anonymously and letting their extraordinary music speak for itself, ÅNDfØLK are a production outfit making rich, evocative and engaging house music that paints an otherworldly picture while remaining deeply rooted in club and dancefloor culture. Their music explores deep, organic house sounds with a strong focus on melody and atmosphere.
To date ÅNDfØLK have released three singles, ‘Faces’ (May 2020) ‘Solo Tu Y Yo’ (October 2020) and ‘Aurora’ (March 2021). Faces reached Spotify Official Friday Cratediggers independently, and both follow up singles were featured in Apple Music’s Official New In Dance playlist.
Latest single Magnetic is a patient yet uplifting electronic cut that sits somewhere between deep and melodic house. Built around sparse percussion, lush, ethereal pads, and a gorgeous, subtle synth-led hook, it is follows in the same understated vein as its predecessors, and further establishes ÅNDfØLK as an act of singular talent.
Hi ÅNDfØLK, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Yeah all good thanks, it’s been a strange year for musicians and artists worldwide, but we’ve managed to keep our sanity, have some successful independent releases and get very prepared for 2022!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Magnetic”?
Magnetic’s title came as a result of the energy the song gave us, it feels as if all the elements are pulling together in the right way. This is something that probably we try to achieve in all our tracks, but it was very apparent in this one in particular.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
It was largely inspired – much like our last release The Garden – by the craving to go out, but the reality that we couldn’t at the time – so we ended up making some tracks that work well played low level at home, and also hit a bit harder when turned up to get people moving!
Any plans to release any sort of video for the track?
Not as of yet, we’re still independent and at the moment everything goes to the music, but for sure visuals will follow in the future and we plan to take you on a magical adventure into the world of ÅNDfØLK!
How was the recording and writing process?
You know we think every producer can relate to this: sometimes you have tracks that you are working on for weeks or months to get it right and sometimes you have tracks that everything falls into place. “Magnetic” was one of the latter. Everything went smoothly, every part sat in place right away and we had finished it more or less in a few days.
With the great reception your previous music has gotten – did you feel any pressure while putting this new single together or rather the opposite?
A bit of both being honest – the previous tracks successes set the bar, we’re so proud of what we’ve achieved in just 18 months of releasing music, so we know we have to maintain/improve as we grow, but we’re also aware that our success so far has come from us staying true to making exactly what we want – not worrying about expectations, genre classifications etc – and not overthinking the creative process.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Yes! Lots coming in 2022, and we think there’s a continual growth to what we’re putting out! We’re just getting started so it’s exciting to see where things can go.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
Not yet, possibly a December release 😉 if not then January for sure!
What else is happening next in ÅNDfØLK’s world?
We don’t really like to talk about the future and make big announcements, we will see what the future brings, but lots of new music for sure! Hopefully we’ll be on the decks soon and we all can have some fun ! Much love, ÅNDfØLK.
