Other Kids Game Show That Could Be Remade For Adults

The CW has brought back Legends of the Hidden Temple. Now, though, it’s for adults. Specifically, it’s for adults who grew up watching the original on Nickelodeon in the ‘90s. There’s a smidge of nostalgia to it, but on the other hand it’s also a show you can totally tweak to work for adults. Everything in the temple is just a bit bigger, for example.

However, why end there? Why not bring back more game shows for kids and let adults take a run at them. In fact, they’ve already done this for Double Dare at live shows, but let’s go back to the Marc Summers well. How about bringing back What Would You Do?. Honestly, we just want to see a Pie Pod or a Pie Slide or a Pie Coaster designed for adults. How tall of a Pie Coaster could we get? If we don’t bring the show back, we can’t find out.

We could bring back Guts. Who wouldn’t want a chance at a glowing piece of that radical rock? On the less athletic side of things, Finders Keepers could be cool with adults players because you can make it more difficult. Did you know there used to be a Tales from the Crypt game show for kids? It’s true, there was! Now, we could do one for adults. How many TV-MA game shows have there been? You could do that with the Crypt Keeper involved.

What about Wild & Crazy Adults? That show was really just kids running around doing nonsense. There was no real prize, or maybe there was. It was truly just about kids having fun. Why not let adults do the same thing? OK, so maybe this one is a little bit of a stretch, but otherwise we have some real options here. If Legends of the Hidden Temple works for The CW, Olmec may not be the only familiar face from the ‘90s we see again, this time with adults hanging out and doing their thing.
