OK! Ken is a new and upcoming music artist with a great story that led to his music dreams coming to fruition. OK Ken! has a rather unique background due to various jobs he worked before focusing on his music. It’s not uncommon for famous music artists to have worked other jobs before hitting the stage as a music star, but Ok Ken! hails from a more unique background than others. He was originally born as Kenny Allen, and he grew up in the region of Southeast Texas. He later relocated to North Dakota in pursuit of his academics and his interest in sports. With a degree in healthcare, he emerged from his academic journey feeling largely like he had more to offer, despite landing an enviable position as Healthcare Executive for a well-known hospital in his area. His administration took on a focus on elderly care, and he worked in the position for a while and made strides in his field where he could.
As soon as the COVID-19 pandemic hit, OK! Ken decided to turn to other ventures to find fulfillment, and this is what started him down the path of the music artist. Ok Ken’s songs explore many facets of the pandemic, with special emphasis on the many restrictions that we’ve all been forced to endure these long two years. For OK! Ken, the pandemic was not all bad in that quarantine opened his eyes to his slumbering musical potential. By exploring this new side of himself, he was able to unlock that potential.
He started by taking a page from the books of other renowned music artists like Drake, The Black Eyed Peas, and Migos. OK! Ken shapes his music in a way that would best be described as a riveting mix of various genres and styles. Because he himself enjoys a lot of different genres of music, OK Ken! has developed the ability to create exciting music unlike anything you’ve ever heard before by mixing together multiple styles and beats. His music makes a statement as something that is powerfully unique.
You’ll get a taste of this with his brand new single, “You Know What I Want.” This is a song where you can distinctly hear multiple influences. It also carries with it a sound that is strongly influenced by growing up around the Dallas and Houston club scene. “You Know What I Want” is a confident, swaggering single that explores the ups and downs of life, and all the humor, tragedies, and intricacies that come along with it.
