Lowertown Releases Official Video For “Burn On My Own”

Today, buzzy Atlanta-based lo-fi duo Lowertown released the official video for their latest single, “Burn On My Own,” from their recently released EP, The Gaping Mouth (Dirty Hit)Filmmaker Zachary Bailey (Young Thug, Jean Dawson) directed the trippy and haunting visual — CLICK HERE to watch and CLICK HERE to stream the full EP.

“‘Burn On My Own’ was a song we had worked on at the darkest period of our October to January stay in London,” the band said. “We were incredibly isolated with freezing temperatures and no restaurants or other spaces open to see. We were stuck in our Airbnb for a month with little to no connection to our friends or family at home in Atlanta, so we began spiraling mentally. This video is almost a complete opposite shift from our circumstances during the song’s composition. Filmed in Malibu during the daytime with bright, happier colors and faces, we wanted to create a different look at the song. Not just something bleak and devoid of color, but something saturated with joy. We found the juxtaposition very cathartic because it shows those intense and dark feelings in a new context.”

Later this month, Lowertown will take the stage at Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta for a special hometown set on October 24 before jetting to the UK to play the inaugural Pitchfork Music Festival London on November 11.
