THE BEST AND SAFE WAY TO DRINK WINE AND LIQUOR

We all know that alcohol is not really all that good for your health, if you don’t know what you’re doing of course. Seeing the benefits can be difficult if you’re not at all informed about the nuances of “alcohol science”. So, how can we keep drinking and still be in shape?

DRINK IT NEAT AND CLEAN

Liquor can be a lot better for your body if you drink it straight from the bottle with only some rocks (ice for the future drink lovers) to accompany it. This includes whiskey, vodka, gin and all kinds of scotch, all of this is done to dilute the drink and reduce the amount of alcohol per sip which will also decrease the caloric intake. You should still drink moderately and avoid double dipping in your reserve! If we’re talking about calories Vodka is the best distillate, it only contains 97 Cal and no carbs, it’s a perfect choice for some good times and, most importantly, a healthy time. Scotch and Whisky are definitely the heaviest because of what they contain, but if dilute them correctly you can limit a lot of the issues.

WINE

Wine is the perfect drink for a classy or special night, it’s the best alcoholic product if you want to enjoy your night while hitting on any woman around. Some wines can also be much tastier than your usual drink!

If we’re talking calories then wine is not that bad, a glass contains 90 to 140 Cal but don’t worry, there have been some proven health benefits thanks to the concentration of antioxidants. It can reduce cholesterol levels and it can help with cancer risks, depression and diabetes.

So, if you consider all aspects and not only the calories of a glass of wine, it’s a good candidate for tonight’s drink.

BEER

Beer is a great product. Unfortunately, every single one of them has a high concentration of calories and carbs (ever heard of beer belly?), this can be really be dangerous to your body, it will create health problems down the line and it is really hard to turn back at that point. You could try to go for some Light Beer, where the quantity of carbs is significantly lower, and that can really help you keep your intake under control, those are around the 96 calories each and contain 5.3 grams of carbs, a really low value compared to the 130 calories and 24 grams of carb of a standard beer bottle.

WATER IS THE KEY!

Even if you can drink in the healthy way we explained above, the key is moderation!

You should drink a good glass of water in-between alcoholic drinks. It can help you stay hydrated, sober you up and reduce eventual hungover symptoms. It has been proven that drinking wine or water during an alcoholic night can prevent the annoying hangover of the next day.

EAT BEFORE DRINKING.

If you didn’t have a chance to eat before one of your crazy nights out, you should probably consider going to a pub and eat a sandwich. Drinking on an empty stomach can be really risky, people get usually drunk faster and it could lead to more drinking and that can be really dangerous from a health perspective. It will also tempt you into eating junk food in an alcohol fuelled midnight snack.

It can be tricky to manage your health while also being an avid drink lover but, with some help and research, we can all enjoy our beers and rockstar 6 pack.
