Exclusive Interview: Rising Artist FastlaneLord

What is your name and what city do you rep?

FastlaneLord I’m from Hempstead long island but live in Newport New Virginia

Tell us about your latest releases, what inspired you to create them?

My latest release is War ft. Lil Jairmy. I really can’t say what inspired me to make it because we chose the beat in the studio the night we recorded it. I chose Lil Jairmy because he’s the biggest artist out right now in the city of Houston. Plus I did my research and noticed he’s not only the next to blow, but has a strong connection to the new sound that’s out.

What is unique about you and your music?

Being that I’m from up top I have a lot of people that tell me I have similarities to 50 cent and I feel like his sound isn’t as present as it once was, due to the fact that he’s more focused on a bigger bag dealing with movies and television.

What shaped your music?

50 cent and the street life of New York.

When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?

Truthfully sitting on the phone with a homie named Strik Biz. He was telling me about a situation his people had going on. After he finished talking I stated we should take a step forward.

What type of music do you listen to?

Old school, rap and R&B

What inspires you to write music?

I listen to the beat and basically go off what the beat is telling me at that time.

What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) and that you are passionate about?

Try to do more research on the music business. When I’m not doing that I’m chilling with my two daughters and family.

Happiness to you is…

To be able to spend time with my kids and provide for them a future that wasn’t given to me. At the age of 9 i lost my mom’s to domestic violence at the hand of my father.

What do you wish you were told when you first started making music that you think would help artists just starting out?

In this pandemic I wish I was told about all the scamming going on. But due to this being the first time anyone has seen it, I guess it’s something no one would be able to explain. Also it takes a lot of motivation and dedication. Nothing happens over night for the most part. It’s them one or two hit makers that take off, but it doesn’t always happen like that.

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

I have an album coming out in November called Heartaches and Pain. That album will explain my life in a nutshell for real.

Where do we find you music / music projects?

I’m on all streaming platforms from tidal to spotify to apple music and more. just look up FastlaneLord on all platforms.

Any last words for the readers?

Just keep an eye for me because I’m going to be dropping a lot more hits. It’s Fastlane to the death of me.
