We got to sit with the artist to discuss this new single and what the future holds.
Hi Amarachi, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
I’ve been doing great and happy to be alive.
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “This Is How”?
It’s a song that is close to me, about writing your own ending to a beautiful mess.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
The adversity I was going through at the time, which looking back now, has made me stronger – I feel like I am superwoman.
How was the recording and writing process?
The song was written in pieces. As life was happening, I was taking notes. Recording is always a breeze for me, and plus I was fortunate to work with a talented duo, Nick and Mike Squillante.
What role does Nigeria play in your music?
Nigeria was part of the beginning story. I still have childhood memories growing up. United States is where the nitty gritty has taken place. Not the fairytale life, but a beautiful mess.
How has your time travelling and getting to meet other cultures have influenced your music?
I’ve been fortunate to meet interesting people that bring life to each story. I always say each state/city lived in has different personalities. Some crazier than others.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
I should have new music coming out later on this year.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
TBA – It’s a hard decision to make. I like them all.
What else is happening next in Amarachi’s world?
Nothing at the moment.
