INTERVIEW: Taps

Hi Taps, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I have been fantastic, thank you!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Dance All Night”?

I think one thing I love about my single is the constant reminder and connection it has to being from Zimbabwe.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

I wouldn’t say any event in particular but it was definitely reminiscing on my childhood that inspired this song.

How was the filming process and experience behind the video?

With it being a very jam packed day you always try and take something good away from the overall experience. It was a little hectic, but the filming process was great!

How was the recording and writing process?
Those are the most fun things for me! They were absolutely fun especially when since I got to do it with friends.

What role does Zimbabwe play in your music?

Zimbabwe is the foundation of who I am and plays an immense part in who I am today.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

The new single does mean we can expect new material. It is taking a little longer than I anticipated but it’s coming along pretty good!

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

In terms of tentative dates, I would say the fall! As far as the title goes, I don’t have one yet.

What else is happening next in Taps’ world?

Well, the holidays are coming up soon so I usually start my Christmas kids charity that I help with back home.
