Christoph Waltz Set to Return for Season Two of Hit Roku Series “Most Dangerous Game” as Streaming Platform Renews the Fan-Favorite Thriller

There’s no doubt that two-time Oscar winning actor Christoph Waltz is one of the better actors to amble on down the pike in some time; his solid work in such films as Inglorious Bastards and Django Unchained prove that he’s got acting chops to spare. His recent work in the hit Roku thriller series Most Dangerous Game has all but cemented his status as a master thespian and so it should come as no surprise to anyone keeping score out there that, with the announcement today that the series has just received a second season renewal, Waltz will be returning yet again to bring the character of Miles Sellars to life.

Breaking the news of Most Dangerous Game’s renewal today, our sleuthing pals over at The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the former Quibi show will continue its tradition of airing the critical favorite in short-form episodes, a refreshing break from the typical format of the thriller genre which routinely clocks in at the 45 to 60 minute mark. Returning alongside Waltz will be Most Dangerous Game’s showrunner Nick Santora.

Most Dangerous Game is a sly little twist of the thriller knife: A husband is fraught with anxiety and concern over his pregnant wife after he discovers he has a life-ending illness. Desperate to provide for his family, the man – Dodge Maynard – takes up on an offer to participate in a lethal game where he quickly discovers that he’s not the hunter but rather the prey.

In a press release, Nick Santora said that “The response we’ve seen to Most Dangerous Game on the Roku Channel has been tremendous, and I’m thrilled to be bringing another action-packed season to streamers. Season two will be set in New York and let’s just say, it’ll be a whole new game.”

This taut thriller was one of more than seventy shows that Roku took on after purchasing Quibi’s small yet rich library earlier in 2021.

Head of Scripted at Roku Colin Davis said of the renewal that “Audiences gravitated towards the dynamic storytelling and uncompromising action of season one. Nick Santora’s script for season two takes the thrill to the next level in New York and with David Castaneda joining Christoph Waltz, it was an easy decision to bring Most Dangerous Game back for another season.”

No precise air date for the sophomore season of Most Dangerous Game, but fear not all of you Christoph Waltz fans; Vents will be here with any and all updates on this crackerjack of a series just as soon as we have all of the groovy details!
