Hi Connor, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

What’s up VENTS thank you for having me! I’m doing well, just making daily songs, doing hot yoga, and training an insane puppy.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Missed Call”?

MISSED CALL started as the Day 78 installment of my daily song series; I’ve been releasing song ideas/snippet videos every single day for 6 months straight now.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

An ex from several years ago called me out of the blue and sent me into a spiral of dumb emotions. I actually sampled a voicemail from her on the song. I’m hoping she doesn’t hear it but hey maybe that would be funny.

Any plans to release any sort of video for the track?

The original snippet I released has a video along with it but maybe I’ll make a full length video. hmmmm.

How was the recording and writing process?

As I mentioned, it was part of my daily song series so it kind of just came together in about an hour as I tend to just let things flow without thinking about it too much. I was definitely self conscious about sharing this but sometimes you just have to rip the bandaid.

How has The Clipse and Frank Ocean influenced your writing?

This song actually does pull in both of these influences I think. Frank Ocean’s raw emotion and stripped down writing style is definitely influencing the piano and singing sections on here, and the more gritty rapping moments can definitely be traced back to me listening to The Clipse when I was a kid.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

New songs on my social media every single day! But yes! Full length album on the way!

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

“ATTEMPT 3” album coming mid september!

What else is happening next in Connor Musarra’s world?

Just absolutely flooding the streets with music and trying to be a good dog
