Finally, Tottenham striker Harry Kane trains with team-mates for the first time this season

Tottenham star Harry Kane trained with his teammates for the first time this campaign on Tuesday, after completing his isolation period.

The striker had been staying at Tottenham’s training ground hotel – The Lodge, after returning to the United Kingdom from his summer holiday in the Bahamas, en route to Florida.

England skipper needed to isolate upon arrival, meaning he was unable to train with his teammates at Spurs as they prepared to trade tackle with league champions Manchester City in their Premier League season opener on Sunday, with online trading in South Africa being affected by the game at the time.

On Monday, the Spurs captain underwent individual training sessions while those involved in theCity clash – which Spurs won 1-0 courtesy of Son’s goal, enjoyed a day off work.

But Kane, 28, is now in contention to play his first game of the new season against Pacos de Ferreira after being listed in Spurs’ team for their Europa Conference League qualifying match in Portugal later on Thursday.

The English striker was expected to report to training on 2nd August following his post-Euro break but instead returned five days later, debunking a rumor that he had refused to partake in training and insisting his late arrival was “planned”.

Kane told the club at the end of the last campaign that he wants to dump the North London club in the summer in a bid to compete for major honors regularly and believes he has an amicable agreement with club chairman Daniel Levy to do so.

However, the club chairman has stated clearly he does not want to offload the prolific striker, who has three years left on the six-year deal he signed back in 2018.

Tottenham’s opponents on Sunday, Manchester City, reportedly had a £100million bid for the striker rejected earlier in the summer, and City Boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed he does want to land the goal poacher.

According to UEFA rules, if Harry Kane plays for Spurs in Thursday’s Europa Conference League match, he will still be able to play for any club in the UEFA Champions League starting from the group stage onwards this campaign.

Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has said Manchester City’s loss at Spurs on Sunday will only heighten their desire to land Harry Kane before the summer window closes at the end of the month.

Neville said: “I don’t think Man City have been the type of club that would react off the back of one defeat, but it’s three now [Champions League final, Community Shield, and Premier League] and they need a striker.

“Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres are forwards, and I know that’s the way the game is going in terms of flexible forwards, like Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane. They move around and City has got Raheem Sterling, Jesus, RiyadMahrez, and other players that move across the front line.

“But I think they need a point, they need something, because in games like on Sunday, Kane could have been the difference. He would have taken a chance, played it forward more, he would have demanded that they play quicker, he might have got his head on a cross.
