“Checks”follows White Dave’s latest collaboration with G-Eazy, Dame D.O.L.L.A. (Damian Lillard), and P-Lo – “About That Time” – which was featured on the soundtrack for Space Jam: A New Legacy. The LP also adds to White Dave’s impressive musical catalog, which includes three full-length studio albums and six EP releases in the last four years, including his most recent effort, Porch Sessions (April 2021).
Inspired by the likes of Kid Cudi, Tupac, DMX, and Biggie, White Dave has demonstrated his skill at creating music that pushes the creative envelope and underscores his spirit of individuality. His work has been featured in various critically claimed films such as Black Panther (“Nervous”), Creed (“Intolerant”), and on Judas and the Black Messiah: The Inspired Album (“Appraise”). His 2017 album, The Season of the Rich, was also executive-produced by Grammy award-winning musician Ludwig Göransson.
