It’s Finally Here: Netflix Releases First Promo for Season 4 of “Stranger Things”

For all of us fans of Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Steve, Hopper, Jonathan Joyce and everyone else that inhabits the kooky town of Hawkins, Indiana as seen in three glorious seasons of the Netflix smash Stranger Things, our long wait for an update on all things Upside Down has finally ended with the release of the first promo of the upcoming fourth season, proving once and for all that sometimes good things do come to those who wait…

Per those Dungeons and Dragons-lovin’ fanatics over at The Hollywood Reporter comes the news today-  along with the actual promotional video touted in the paragraph above – that streaming platform Netflix has masterfully cobbled together our first real look at just what we can expect when the new season of Stranger Things officially drops in (gulp) 2022.  Hint: It looks to be pretty friggin’ awesome.

Racking up a thirty second run time, this exclusive first look at Stranger Things season four is set to go global this evening on NBC during that network’s broadcast of the Tokyo Olympics. Of course, you don’t have to sit through the Machiavellian theatrics of midget thumb wrestling or the highs and lows of underwater basket weaving to check the trailer out; we got it right here!

Combining past footage from the show alongside brand-spanking new images, the Stranger Things promo does what any good promotional piece should be designed for – leaving you salivating for more! Some quick takeaways: Man, everyone in the cast looks so much older, which makes sense when you consider the lengthy gap between season three and four (thanks for nothing, COVID-19). Also, in the brief runtime, things feel pretty doggone epic and painted on a much larger canvas than previous seasons. Perhaps this is the run-up to season five, which the show’s creators the Duffer Brothers have hinted might very well be the finale to the whole shebang.

Executive Producer Shawn Levy confirmed the “epic” aspect hinted in the promo recently when she asserted that the new season would be “Visually and narratively very ambitious, much more ambitious than the prior three seasons…It also happens to be the season that we chose to go much bigger. It’s the scale of this season and the multi-settings of season four.”

Good to get at least a taste of a new season of Stranger Things! Stay tuned to Vents for any and all new info we can get our grubby little mitts on to pass on to you about the upcoming season, Dear and Constant Readers!
