Fabian dos Rios releases new song dedicated to his dog; Captain Rasca

Argentinian pianist and composer Fabián Dos Rios releases his new single ‘Captain Rasca’ (named after a dog they rescued on their travels). Listen Here

A homage to the environment and how we should be protecting it by building a more sustainable world, Fabián Dos Rios cites his main inspirations for this single being the landscapes of Austria as well as the rocky shores of his childhood home in Spain. His musical influences include the likes of Philip Glass, Jean-Michel Blais, Phoria and Nils Frahm.

His musical knowledge began with intense piano lessons from chorus director and conductor, Dirk Richartz. These years were essential in building and shaping his foundational skills. Although Fabián stopped taking formal lessons after two years, he never stopped playing the piano. He was dedicated to teaching himself what he missed after he stopped his lessons, his passion whilst digging into his memories awakened new feelings that he transformed into art.

If you are to take anything away from this song it’s that: Defend the beauty of nature; feel alive with every action; have an impact on the world by being modest, benevolent and frugal: values that are now more than ever needed to build a sustainable world.

As Jean-Jacques Rousseau once stated: “Man is born free, yet everywhere he is in chains”. In order to transcend, we need the courage to constantly break the chains that keep our own identity locked.
