INTERVIEW: Isabella Barrett

1.) How does it feel to be another year older and wiser?

Thank you so much, I feel like 15 is a weird year because you’re already a teenager but you’re not old enough to drive I’m excited for what this year holds for me business wise.

2.) Congratulations on your upcoming book, Teen’s Guide to Business! What was the inspiration for you to write this new book?

Writing a guide to business for teens has been my passion for over a year I started before Covid and things have gotten delayed so I’m so excited to be back on track and have it out for the holidays!

I feel like when I first started out in business it would’ve been so helpful to have a book that was just related to my age group so that’s what inspired me the most to write it.

3.) Teenagers are such an important contributor in our daily lives from social media to arts and entertainment and even in the business of government. Do you feel that there’s something of a teen renaissance happening right now?

I feel like with the access to social media and really the access to talk to anyone in the world via the Internet is so inspiring. I feel like teens are inspired to anything is possible and we have so much technology to help us achieve our goals.

4.) You entered the public consciousness at a very young age with the smash reality series Toddlers & Tiaras. What was that experience like for you? Was it difficult to process?

I get this question all the time and the memories I have from pageants for being on the show are super vague. I know when I was young I had a lot of energy and I used to love going to pageants because I could act and perform and put on a play. I feel honored to have been on such an iconic show and I love watching old episodes. Of course it’s always a great conversation starter because when you say oh I was one of the stars there like you looked familiar LOL all the time.

5.) What was it like for you to revisit those days in the new Discovery+ series Toddlers & Tiaras: Where Are They Now?

Being back on toddlers in tiaras was very nostalgic, One of my favorite moments on the season was just laying in my bed with my mom and watching the old episodes it’s so funny when you can actually explain what was really happening versus the perception.

6.) Has your family had an important role in keeping you grounded and down to earth while you work within the entertainment industry?

I come from a big Italian family so I am always grounded and I love that. I think being in the entertainment industry can be super exciting but also you can get very caught up in the fame and chasing it.

For me I’m really focused on business and using TV and media as a tool to promote my brands.

7.) What advice would you give a young and aspiring child who has a desire to become involved in this particular industry?

My advice is try everything while you’re young if you think you want to try TV acting modeling go for it.

8.) You recently did a stint on Amazon’s Next Big Thing NYC. Was that an enjoyable experience for you and would you do it again?

Next big thing NYC was probably one of the funnest shows I’ve ever filmed we filmed a episodes over six months and I got to hang out with a lot of fabulous friends old and new.

I like the documentary style TV because I can just be myself and the cameras follow.

I would definitely do it again and I’m signed up for season two so fingers crossed.

9.) Major congratulations on your couture fashion line House of Barretti; what was the genesis of this endeavor?

I actually started this clothing line 4 years ago and it was just simple blazers and Chanel style Suits. House of Barretti has really evolved into a major fashion brand of couture suits for a graduation pageant Business and other formalwear focusing on the teen and young adult.

10.) How is your couture line of clothes different from everything that has come before? How is it similar?

I think House of already is so popular because there was a huge gap in the market for suits most companies that make suits make an older cut and we are using the latest trims designs and active fit.

11.) Can you give fans any hints as to what you have coming up for your House of Barretti line of couture fashion?

Will be previewing it at Hamptons Fashion Week this coming week August 7th . We definitely will be incorporating some pant suits along with skirts with blazers and some surprises.

12.) You seem like such a natural talent that it’s impossible not to ask you if you have any plans to pursue any acting projects in the near future?

I think my brands are keeping me very busy but I certainly could see myself releasing another song. LOL which I put out back in my toddlers and tiaras days was a huge hit and still gets a ton of play on Apple and Spotify.

13.) Where do you see yourself in another five years?

Definitely college bound and still running a business and hopefully heading towards the billionaire status LOL

14.) Final – SILLY! – Question: Best movie about the fashion world – The Devil Wears Prada or Zoolander?

hands-down The Devil wears Prada
