Los Angeles-based multi-talented singer-songwriter zleephouse released his second single of 2021, “I LOVED YOU MORE!”, a classic toxic pop-punk breakup song. The single is the follow-up to “No Performance” – an alternative pop soliloquy lamenting on the end of a relationship – and “thru the night” – a sexy, euphoric, and dreamlike G-Funk throwback track about being sucked into a relationship.
The psyche behind “I LOVED YOU MORE!” represents a time in zleephouse’s life where he was giving more of himself than his partner was in yet another toxic relationship. The writing of this song was an enlightening experience for zleephouse, as he learned to come to terms with his own tendencies in wanting more than is available at times. Even more so, the process of writing “I LOVED YOU MORE!” allowed him to truly understand the difference between wanting more from your partner, and your partner actually not reciprocating the same amount of love and affection as you are putting into the relationship.
With “I LOVED YOU MORE!” being the very first pop-punk song that zleephouse has ever made, he managed to authentically create a truly raw, natural, and organic song. The song was a collaboration between zleephouse (songwriting and vocals), Jconn (producer), and Trent Culkin (guitars). Admittedly having become addicted to this sound, zleephouse has expressed that fans can expect more pop punk-esque songs of this genre and nature in the near future.
“When listening to ‘I LOVED YOU MORE!’, I just want people to fucking feel it. I want people to really learn to let go and scream. This song isn’t for the faint of heart – it’s for anyone who is just ready to fucking lose it.” -zleephouse
