INTERVIEW: Thomas Abban

Processed with VSCO with 1 preset

Hi Thomas, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I’ve been well.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Surrender Song”?

It’s a single from my new Album “The Spiritualizer”.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

Life is one big event really, so in a way yes.

How was the filming process and experience behind the video?

It was recorded in a very hot empty warehouse at 3 in the morning.

The single comes off your new album The Spiritualizer – what’s the story behind the title?

The title came into my head and stuck. It had more staying power and captured the essence of the album’s songs better than any other title I could think of.

How was the recording and writing process?

It was quite an intense process and I have been sitting on it since last year.

What were some of the spiritual concepts you get to explore on this record?

I’m not sure that there is such a thing.

Where else did you find the inspiration for the songs and lyrics?

The same places we have forever; outside, inside, and all the other sides.

What else is happening next in Thomas Abban’s world?

More music and live shows.
