Rising Newport artist L E M F R E C K has today revealed his new track ‘Kings’ featuring INFAMOUSIZAK. It’s the first cut from his forthcoming project The Pursuit, coming soon.
Talking about the song L E M F R E C K said, “So I wrote it as a memoir, like a story of how I got here. How I wanted to quit. How I’ve done all this so I can respect myself. And provide a life for my people”.
“My verse speaks on remaining strong with the mindset that greatness can be achieved anywhere regardless of skin colour or environment, it also touches on the pressures faced as a black man who is the only success of his community”, adds INFAMOUSIZAK.
‘Kings’ is a deep insight into the journey L E M F R E C K has endured to get here. How it may seem that the waters are calm but the current is wild. His music is fully versed in the art of storytelling, from his roots as a Newport gospel session artist, to his time as a producer for the Pirate grime scene in Bristol and Wales, to present day where he’s set up shop in the vibrancy of South London.
L E M F R E C K’s forthcoming project The Pursuit is a time capsule of his life experiences. Breaking down the experiences of a black youth growing up in Wales, following the pursuit of love, happiness, violence and self worth. Self-produced and self-released, the release excels in unique storytelling with underground gritty sounds and honest detailed lyricism.
To date he has seen support from BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, alongside landing a well-earned place on BBC Introducing’s Ones To Watch in 2021 list. Other plaudits include Trench, Blatantly Blunt and Guap.
