Since acquiring the villainous role on Netflix’s series The Circle, Courtney Revolution has elevated his lifestyle for his betterment as well as his community. As a young African American male and member of the LGBTQ+ community, Revolution is devoted to consistently and proudly being himself so that others can be confident enough to do the same.
This confidence, accompanied by patience and hard work, brought forth his dream of working in the film industry. When the time finally came, and Revolution was picked up for The Circle’s casting, the initial shock was quite overwhelming. “I think I almost choked on my Tyga Bites chicken nuggets when I heard the news that I would be flying out to England,” says Courtney.
For quite some time, Revolution had been intrigued by the world of reality TV, having already had success in front of large audiences. His previous experiences acting in plays, entertaining large audiences, and participating in TV shows prepared him for what was to come. Despite this preparation, Revolution compares the reality of this new role to “the fish out of water aspect” of not knowing exactly what to expect from the experience.
Along with the acting project, Revolution co-hosts a podcast with a trusted friend, Phylesha. The podcast, Overheard in the Pantry is a comedic conversation between the two about occurrences in celebrity culture, the YouTube community, and more. Shortly, we can expect Revolution’s solo podcast to be released with a focus on celebrity involvement.
With solid passions for both acting and comedy, Revolution has plans to immerse his career in both industries. In his younger years, Revolution was drawn towards comedy and would, at this point, enjoy being in a sitcom or playing himself in a cameo role. His dream, however, is to get into voice acting. “I’d love to play a million cartoon characters like Cree Summer,” says Courtney.
The Netflix star makes a real effort to nourish his life outside of work and enjoy hobbies such as listening to music, hanging out with friends, and exploring every chic that LA has to offer. “LA,” he says, “is a place for you if you look hard enough.” The importance of finding his community and nurturing his dreams stood out like never before in the city.
Without a doubt, the 28-year-old rising star will continue to take hold of the opportunities set before him. “So many people ask me ‘what’s next daily, and I’ve got to work hard to make those plans come to fruition!” Courtney affirms. The love he possesses for working on and molding his future will take him far. His favorite opportunity since The Circle has yet to be revealed, but it is a project he is profoundly excited to share.
