Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
We’re excellent! Got that sweet Pfizer goodness pumping through our veins and looking forward to our freedom.
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Until The DJ Drops”?
It’s a track we’ve had for a little while now. It was written over zoom back in October I think. It’s a straight up party record, Louis sounds amazing on it and we’re over the moon it’s out in the world!
How did the collaboration with Louis III happen?
Louis is an artist we’ve loved for a while now, he has a really unique voice and it’s exactly what we wanted for the record. As soon as we heard him on it we knew he was the one!
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
I think it was a song born out of wishful thinking, honestly. We were in lockdown dreaming of being back in a club when it seemed so far away – so we brought the club to our studio instead!
Any plans to release any sort of video for the track?
Time will tell.
How was the recording and writing process?
The writing process was really quick, actually. We wanted the beat to do the talking so the production was a bit more of an evolution as it progressed. We tried a few vocalists on it but as soon as we heard Louis – the track finished itself.
What role does Leeds play in your music?
In this case, it didn’t really play a role as we spent the majority of our time in the studio cooking away. Perhaps our subconscious desire to be back out in the city leaked in somewhere, though!
What is it about the 70s and 90s that you find so fascinating?
They were both eras of huge cultural change and that’s something that clearly effected the music. The link between those things has always fascinated us.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
We’re always making music – every day. So hopefully very soon!
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
Not yet, but watch this space, as they say.
