When it comes to music, Najim Mollou takes things very seriously. For him creating music is not just a way to get popular or earn a good income, but it is a duty to his followers who are inspired by him and passionately wait for his music. He believes that every musician should hold the same theory when making music. They should be committed to their duties to serve their fans, and do that in the best possible way. Here are 3 pieces of advice from Najim Mollou to his fellow musicians:
- Practice makes you perfect
This is a core value that we have all heard in every field. However, according to Najim, for a musician, this is truer than ever. Nobody becomes a star overnight. It takes constant effort and practice to finally nail down what you hoped to produce. The same is the case with music, at times it may only take 5 rehearsals to get your desired outcome but sometimes it may take 40. However, if you work hard for it and constantly devote all your efforts to it, then you eventually do end up coming up with the perfect rhythm. As Najim states, “These hours of frequent practice help you build up your skills and open many new opportunities for you. Nobody will bring an opportunity to your doorstep if you’re not prepared to make the best out of it.”
- Creativity is the goal
Every music brings along its own uniqueness. A new musician needs to find their own personal style and strength to move further. This is what sets them apart from others. They can’t just pick a song and change some tune or words and call it theirs. Instead, they need to work on their own creativity. According to Najim, nobody wants to hear something they have already heard before. Every music has its own charisma and story to tell. Thus, copying an old song won’t bring any good.
- Stay updated
Lastly, with this evolving music industry, musicians need to stay updated. Even though it’s necessary for every musician to stay unique and craft their own song, it is also important to stay up to date regarding what’s trending and what’s not. The songs of each era had their own charm. They can’t be compared to each other, but they all had something different in them which made them trend during that time. Thus, in this changing world of music, it is important to keep your eyes open for new opportunities and especially for competitors. And if you fail to do so, then this might mean that you can’t shine in the spotlight.
