One Thousand Roses – Book Review

One Thousand Roses is a poetry book written by a renowned businessman Shahram Kabiri. Kabiri is originally from Iran, Tehran and migrated to Dubai with his parents in 1975. He is a graduate of Business Management, Economics, and International Law. Even though he is a successful entrepreneur and business advisor, he loves writing. Even as a kid, he was always passionate about writing poetry and prose. He also started his personal blog named Parvangi, meaning “to permit” – which was later edited and created into a digital book.

Over the years, Shahram Kabiri has written various accounts on human experiences. He regularly shares his writings on his personal Facebook and Instagram pages. Some of Kabiri’s romantic and soulful poems have been sung by many reputed singers like Babak Jahanbakhsh and Siavash Shams. One of his most accredited pieces of poetry, “Mohtaj,” is also performed by Siavash Shams. So far, Shahram Kabiri has written two books, “Sometimes I miss myself” and “A thousand roses.”

A Thousand Roses is the writer’s latest book about love. Released in April 2021, ‘A Thousand Roses’ is a collection of poems by Shahram Kabiri. This book is nostalgic, evoking, heart-breaking and healing. It is a romantic poetry book that talks about adoration, warmth, intimacy, passion, seduction, and heartbreak. The verses beautifully explain romantic emotions and their impact on our lives. It is a perfect way to reminisce the old young love, the butterflies, the rush of emotions, the heartbreak, and the pain of losing your first love.

Nowadays, social media and dating apps have taken away the true essence of falling for someone. As everyone is easily accessible and approachable, the excitement of sating ‘hi’ to your crush or revealing your love through a letter, is no longer there. Modern digital age love stories have no charm. In a way, through his book, Kabiri is trying to encourage the youngsters of today to love more genuinely. This book is for young lovers as the poet shares his enthusiasm for young love and how it can be found, lost, and then re-found. The author wants to inspire the youth with his writing. He wants to change the mindset of millennials and gen-z by exposing them to the raw emotions of first love. He wants to relate to them and engage them through his poetry.

A Thousand Roses reveals the real experiences of Kabiri while mirroring the reader’s own emotions and vulnerability, opening them to a world of romanticism. It will inspire you to love and tell you what to expect from love. As a die-hard romantic himself, Kabiri has done an exceptional job with this book. Like its predecessor, A Thousand Roses is receiving positive feedback from the readers. This book is, without a doubt, an outstanding contribution to the world of romantic poetry. It keeps the reader hooked till the last word. Who knows, soon one of its verses will be a super hit song too. Well, we certainly cannot wait and wish the author the best of luck!
