Here we have Les Techno and the release of the new track, “In The Sunshine”.
Do you know all those different nicknames that Babe Ruth had because he was such a great baseball player? Well, we decided to go about it with Les Techno.
He’s the Purveyor of Cool, the Sultan of Sensation, the Dope Desired, and our favorite, Submarine Pop.
Ok, all of that is besides the point but they’re great nicknames in our opinion. Well, Les Techno wants to take you on a journey back to 80’s Goth, back to the likes of The Cure and others such.
He’s back with a surrealist attitude, a moody interpretation, and a danceable signature that you simply cannot listen to just once. Les presents songs of social commentary with sonic influences ranging from hip-hoppy grooves and 80’s punk-wave to electric guitar psychedelia and electronic music.
But, in order to get more out of this, we decided to give you a bit of history on Les Techno. Les Techno is a New York City rocker that played guitar, and sang in the usual rock hangouts, including in the bands Sim-Stim and Love Posse.
He trained as a guitarist, occasionally with the late jazz-man Larry Coryell, learned to work with analog synthesizers with those big, round knobs, analog reel to reel tape machines, razor blades and a grease pencil in order to make obscure atonal music.
In his latest release “In the Sunshine”, Les Techno delves into a avant-jazz guitar sound on top of his deep vibe bass lines and groove.
We wanted to finish off with a quick, simple quote from the artist himself, “It’s a summer record, you know? Like we are waking up from a nightmare and laying out in a field on a sunny day.”
There we have it folks. This is Les Techno and his release of “In The Sunshine”.
