Deimira Baidoo is an entrepreneur and a marketing specialist, helping people elevate their businesses through improving their marketing and sales process. Deimira himself credits his background in marketing and sales for having helped launch his career.
In this exclusive interview, Deimira Baidoo has agreed to share the importance of marketing and sales and how acquiring knowledge in both fields can help you launch a successful career.
Deimira first began his education journey in Ghana, studying public administration at the University of Ghana. Shortly thereafter, he came to Canada and began studying marketing, both on his own time and at the university level.
Deimira recalls it being a struggle when he first arrived in Canada. “I had to find a way to survive,” says Deimira.
This was when Deimira realized that he would need to rely on his resourcefulness and teach himself new skills.
It was around the year 2000 that Deimira began developing a keen interest in business and entrepreneurship, which helped him begin his journey to financial independence, and would later help him propel his career to new heights.
Deimira recalls watching a training program about how to buy foreclosure houses and turn a profit. Though the program was American, he was able to transfer some of the takeaways to the Canadian market, but not in a conventional way.
Deimira Baidoo began flipping cars instead of houses. It all coincided perfectly, because at the time, he was looking for a car.
“I thought, why don’t I just go to an auction, find a car and try to use it for a bit while I try to sell it at the same time.”
That’s exactly what Deimira Baidoo did. As a student, Deimira was purchasing cars, using them, and then selling an average of two cars per month.
“I was making on average about $2000 to $2500 per car,” says Deimira.
“I wasn’t even working and I was making more money than people who were literally going to work and struggling.”
Not only that, but Deimira was also driving for free.
It was then that Deimira Baidoo realized that he had a knack for sales and for business in general. Things quickly started to become easier because his expenses were minimal and his parents helped him with tuition.
“This really helped me and made me understand the importance of sales,” says Deimira.
Deimira would continue buying and flipping cars for a while, and then he would eventually work in finance for the bank.
At this time, he decided to start his own side hustle to work with real estate developers and builders. Deimira struck a deal: he would begin referring new clients to these builders, and they would pay him a referral fee in return.
It turns out that Deimira Baidoo’s relationship with these developers would be more lucrative than working at the bank. For this reason, he left his job at the bank and pivoted to work with developers.
Flash forward today and Deimira works in real estate and marketing. He also helps people and businesses with their Facebook ads and marketing strategy.
According to Deimira, it all started with sales.
“Sales is what has catapulted me to where I am today.”
