With over 350 million views for his videos and almost 800,000 followers on YouTube, Parry Gripp is one the most recognizable children’s musicians today. He is an Emmy-winning songwriter / recording artist and the frontman of the pop-punk band Nerf Herder — best known for their theme song to Buffy The Vampire Slayer and tracks like “Van Halen.” Today, he releases his latest children’s album, For Kids About To Rock, via Oglio Entertainment along with a new video for “We’re Gonna Win The Game Today!,” featuring animation by Nathan Mazur. Listen to the album HERE and watch the video HERE.
For Kids About To Rock takes listeners on a quirky journey delivered 30 seconds at a time. It features 30 tracks from Parry’s 2005 solo album For Those About to Shop, along with 21 new tracks. When Parry released For Those About to Shop, he hadn’t planned to write a children’s music album but kids just could not resist the unlimited joy and absurd humor expressed. Since many songs contained more adult themes, Parry and collaborator Carl Caprioglio at Oglio Entertainment decided to take the original album down to focus on his new, younger audience and release this delightful batch of short, kid-friendly jingles.
Parry Gripp’s work includes the YouTube megahits “Do You Like Waffles?” and “Raining Tacos”; theme songs for The 7D (Disney), Ben 10: Omniverse (The Cartoon Network) and The Super Hero Squad Show (Marvel); and songs for Ask The StoryBots (Netflix), Phineas & Ferb (Disney) — where he appeared as a special guest! — Emily’s Wonder Lab (Netflix), Hoops & Yoyo television specials (Hallmark), Lily The Unicorn (Amazon), and an animal video series for National Geographic Kids. His YouTube videos were featured in Ricky Gervais’ Derek (Netflix) and actor Christoph Waltz portrayed a hamster in a sketch to Gripp’s song “Hamster On A Piano” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s 2014 post-Academy Awards show (2014).
Gripp’s first children’s book, Somebunny Loves Me, was published by National Geographic Kids with an accompanying song and video. His next book is in the works, due later this year.
