Hi ladies, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Rachele – Hi! Thanks for having us! We’ve been great! Really excited to have our first single out!!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “All Your Friends”?

Heather – Absolutely! “All Your Friends” is our first official GIRL907 single, so obviously it is very special to us. We have a lot of fun making music together, and this song definitely captures that playful vibe.

Did any event, in particular, inspire you to write this song?

H – It started out as a joke loosely based on one of my exes. Then months later, it became weirdly spot on. Guess we kind of predicted the future with this one.

How was the filming process for the music video?

R – Well, it was totally different than we originally planned! We had been working toward a video that would have included a lot of people, but for safety reasons we found a way to do it ourselves with the help of one great videographer, Troy Jackson, and one friend in our quarantine squad. Honestly, I think we enjoyed this video even more than we would have if we had gone with our original plan.

H – We choreographed the entire thing ourselves and made every sign in the video by hand using sharpies. It took forever but it was really fun!

How was the recording and writing process?

R – Writing “All Your Friends” was just a lot of laughing and joking around. Heather and I sat at a piano in my house and threw out line after line that made us laugh.  We had no idea that it would end up being a single.  We just wrote it for fun.

H – Then we took the song to our friend and producer Justin Wantz and he really helped us bring it life. It was super fun to record. Especially those gang vocals in the chorus.

How does your family bond influence your writing and music as a whole?

R – We have been singing together since we were tiny kids – dividing up songs, harmonizing.

H – So it’s really natural for us to harmonize and perform together. It feels like this project has been a long time coming.

R – We are really blessed to have each other to make music with. It just makes the whole creative process better.

What role does Nashville play in your music?

R – Nashville is like one big songwriting school. It took my raw passion for songwriting and taught me how to really hone my craft.

H – It was in Nashville that Rachele forced me to start writing. I was afraid and not at all confident in my writing skills, but Rachele really helped me get over that fear. Now I love songwriting and can’t imagine life without that outlet.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new album – how’s that coming along?

R – We have a 7-song EP!

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

H – No release date for the EP yet – but definitely expect more music from GIRL907 this summer!

What else is happening next in GIRL907’s world?

R – We are excited to continue to release more singles ahead of the EP and make videos for our youtube channel. Basically, you can count on us continuing to create!
