CBD is talked about all over the world right now, but for someone with limited experience – it can be hard to know where to start. There are different types of CBD oil, different brands, and retailers, and they are not all the same. What are these differences and what should you look for when buying CBD oil?
Different CBD Types
Buying CBD is just like buying any other product, and different brands offer products that are likely to be similar, but not necessarily the same. Some might, for example, sell CBD isolate, while another brand could instead sell broad-spectrum CBD oil or full-spectrum CBD.
With there being three different types of CBD, it automatically becomes important to understand the differences, so that you can pick a brand that sells the product you need. A common way to use CBD oil is to treat anxiety, pain, depression, and stress, and the type of product matters as its effectiveness and recommended area of use may differ.
CBD isolate is most likely what most people have in mind when hearing the term “CBD,” and it is CBD in its absolute purest form, often sold in powder- or crystal form. This product contains little to no THC, and it has the lowest THC content out of the three mentioned CBD products as a result of its extraction process.
A term you will inevitably come in contact with, sooner or later, is “full-spectrum CBD.” In full-spectrum CBD, you will find a variety of cannabis extracts. These extracts include (but are not necessarily limited to) terpenes, cannabinoids like cannabinol, and multiple essential oils.
Broad-spectrum CBD, on the other hand, can be said to be a combination of CBD isolate and full-spectrum CBD. Unlike CBD isolate, it contains multiple cannabis plant compounds (naturally occurring), but THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) usually isn’t one of them.
PCR vs. CBD Oil
To further clarify, we need to establish something essential. Is PCR hemp oil the same as CBD oil? The answer is no, it is not the same. The terms hemp oil and CBD oil are often used interchangeably, but this is incorrect. Hemp oil is made with cannabis plant seeds while CBD oil is made using hemp flowers, leaves, and stalks.
What to Look for in a CBD Brand
When you set out to look for a CBD brand, you need to start by making sure they sell the product you are on the lookout for. Keep an eye out for the three CBD types mentioned above, and choose brands with this in mind.
You also want to make sure you are buying your products from a reputable brand, so that you get what you pay for and value for your money. Use buyer’s guides and customer reviews to get a better idea of what a brand has to offer.
Local Laws ; Regulations
Another thing to be aware of is the THC content in your CBD oil. In the United States, CBD oil may not contain more than 0.3 percent THC to be considered legal, and rules tend to be similar all around the world.
