Many people have the perception that you have to go to a full gym to get a great workout. With the exorbitant costs of gym memberships these days, people forego their health because they think they can not afford it.

People do not realize that you can have a full-body workout in the comforts of your own home without having to buy pay for an expensive gym membership or buying expensive equipment for home.

Simple At-Home Exercises

Here are 15 simple exercises to add to your routine right now. These exercises can be done at home and do not need expensive workout equipment. 

Push-Up

A push-up one of the most important exercises to incorporate into your workout. While a push-up does focus on the chest, shoulders, and arms, other parts of your body also activate as you are doing push-ups. As you build core strength in your workout routine, you will eventually see your strong abdomen help you get the perfect push-up position.

Air Squat

An air squat is a basic squat you can do without equipment. Just stand with your feet shoulder length apart and squat down. You will activate your glute and thigh muscles.

Romanian Deadlifts (RDLs)

The Romanian Deadlift is an exercise that focuses on the hamstrings and glutes. Doing this exercise correctly also promotes better hip health. 

Lunges

Whether you chose to do stationary or walking lunges, this exercise is a great way to improve strength in your leg muscles. Having the correct form is imperative to prevent injuries while doing this exercise. Make sure you have a certified trainer show you the correct way to do a lunge before trying it on your own. 

Sit-Ups

The sit-up is the most conventional ab exercise. Sit-Ups are a multi-muscle exercise. Although sit-ups alone will not give you a six-pack of abs, core strength is an integral part of overall strength. Having a poor core may prevent you from doing other exercises successfully.

Flutter Kicks

This exercise will focus on your lower abdomen. Do three sets of flutter kicks for 2 minutes each, and you will feel it.

Bench Dips

If you have a bench or chair, you can do dips. A dip is an exercise that focuses on your triceps.

Bicep Curls

Everyone wants arms like Madonna. Incorporating a bicep routine will help tone and build your arm muscles.

Overhead Tricep Press

This exercise is another great way to tone the triceps.  Have your arms over your head and hold weight. Bend at the elbow and bring that weight lower behind your head and back up.

Plank with Shoulder Taps

If you want to build strength in your shoulders, try bodyweight shoulder exercises. A great example would be to do shoulder taps are you are holding a plank. As you are taking turns touching each shoulder, you are putting the bodyweight on each side of your body and building that strength.

Overhead Press

The overhead press will allow you to test your shoulder strength. This exercise can be done standing or sitting on a bench, Have one dumbbell in each hand, pressing them over your head and back down.

Jumping Jacks

People learn how to do jumping jacks as a kid. This elementary exercise is a great way to speed up your heart rate and warm the body before a good workout.

Jump Squats

Jump squats are another exercise intended to speed up the heart rate. By doing a squat and using your body weight to jump up, you are challenging your body.

Walking
