North Carolina native Lenci, is not afraid to express her affinity for synthesizing music genres through her songwriting and instrumentation. Releasing today her new song “Wildflower” she comes alive with a bold and vibrant piece that brings her glorious vision to life. The way the lyrics are crafted shows a real knack for storytelling, and there is a tenderness to her touch, the way the track simply ambles on by. Her voice serves as the true unifying force, one that has a hint of splendor behind it.
With her songs often about the trials of love and life she has given her music a unique title; “My music reflects who I am internally and externally, even the parts I try to hide or the mistakes I tried to bury. It’s fluid, sometimes playful, mostly about romance and all of its ups and down, but always true; that’s why I call it “whimsical soul”.
Lenci shares about “Wildflower”:
“The song was created in my car, in my driveway. I was just sitting there with the A/C on and the car parked trying to have a conversation with myself about how I could pull myself out of what I felt like was emotional quicksand. I hope that when people hear this song they are reminded how powerful they are. I want people to dance and sing out loud to this song. I hope this song serves as a mantra to speak to yourself kindly and as a liaison between me (the artist) and listeners, so that people know they are not alone. It’s a boost of confidence that we all need. The phrase “WIldflower whatcha doing in a bed of roses”, stems from being different and yet just as beautiful as anyone could be. Just because I don’t fit a certain mold, or expectation, doesn’t mean my beauty inside or outside has less value.”
When Lenci isn’t recording, she is conducting psychological research for her Master’s Degree at North Carolina State University. She has a passion not only for music but understands the importance and power of education and the impact that access to knowledge has on our lives.
“Wildflower” shows off the undeniable force that is Lenci’s voice, for the entire track has a tremendous power behind it…one that touches the very soul.
