It seems that the world of sports is now in full swing, promising a summer like no other. The sporting calendar has plenty of high-octane action that is well worth watching. From tennis to Tokyo, here are the truly unmissable sporting moments to watch this summer. 

1. Euros 2020, 11 June to 11 July

There are few sporting tournaments that are more highly anticipated than the belated 2020 UEFA Championship. 24 of Europe’s top teams will be competing across a huge variety of countries, with a number of high-profile matches taking place at Wembley, as well as kick-offs in Rome, Copenhagen, Munich, and Baku.

4. The Hundred, 17 July to 13 August

Although the stakes will certainly be lower than at the ICC or the Ashes, true cricket fans will nonetheless be pleased to see the return of The Hundred throughout the 2021 summer season. The top English and Welsh teams will be playing on grounds across the United Kingdom, with all of the action being broadcast live on BBC Sports. What’s more, thousands of in-person tickets will be given away for free to lucky cricket fans. 

5. Tokyo Olympics, 23 July to 8 August 

Finally, what better place to end than with the big one itself? The Tokyo Olympics has been long-awaited and it seems that it is definitely due to kick-off in July. Importantly, this year’s Olympics will be a simplified version of previous tournaments, with far fewer sports, games, and medals on offer than there have previously been. Nonetheless, this abridged Olympics will definitely be worth watching.
