INTERVIEW: Tim Plvnk

Hi Tim, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I am really well, even though the last couple of months have been challenging for all of us, I am happy to be able to say that everybody in my surrounding is healthy. However, this time has also given me a chance to focus on my music, which is great.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Somebody”?

My team and I tried to present a track which addresses a lot of people and motivates them to dance and sing along. The thrilling vocal was supposed to activate listeners wherever they are, whether during a car ride, at the beach with friends or by themself at home. I feel like we were able to achieve that goal with my new single “Somebody”.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

The main features of the song were actually created a few years ago. We visited a lot of festivals and realized that we wanted to create a song which would speak to a wide audience.

Any plans to release any sort of video for the track?

Yes, we actually did and are pretty happy about the result. I feel like the video shows exactly the emotions and feelings we wanted to communicate with this song:

How was the recording and writing process?

As mentioned before, we started creating and producing the song a few years ago. Hence, we constantly had to adapt to the popular style of the time and record the vocal several time. Our vocalist Bria is such a talented artist and writer that every recording session was fun, creative and mind-blowing.

What role does Germany play in your music?

Due to the fact that I am German, I probably serve a few German clichés such as being really accurate and structured during the whole production process 🙂

How does your Hispanic roots influence your writing?

My Hispanic roots enable the German guy within me to loosen up a little. After growing up in Spain during the first years of my childhood, this experience enables me to be on the one had really chill and relaxed and on the other hand straight and organized.

With all the momentum built by your previous offering – did you feel any pressure while working on this new song or rather the opposite?

I felt the opposite and was really motivated to keep on going. The most important part is to never lose the fun within your work. So, I kept on doing what felt right and that worked pretty well so far.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

We are always working on different projects simultaneously. However, our focus is mainly on “Somebody” to provide the track with the attention that it deserves.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

You can expect a couple of new releases this year – so stay tuned.

What else is happening next in Tim Plvnk’s world?

Hopefully, gigs in front of a real live audience! Until then live streams every other month and production, production, production!
