Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Love With You”?
My latest single ‘Love With You’ is a 90s House and Garage inspired track that is bursting with that UK flavour. I used that classic M1 organ to drive the track from beginning till end. I wanted to make a feel good summer tune to get people dancing and ready for when we come out of lockdown. The track was originally put up on Soundcloud in January which is where it started gaining traction and getting attention from labels. This led to the track getting signed to Polydor which is just insane!
Any plans to release any sort of video for the track?
Yes! There is a video currently in the works and I honestly believe it’s going to be amazing, I think it will really connect with people.
How was the recording and writing process?
I actually made the original version of the track way back in November. It was originally called ‘Falling in Love’ but I thought that was a bit generic and wouldn’t stand out much in a search so it was changed to ‘Love With You’. This track was one of those tracks that just flowed so well when I was making it, everything fit together like a jigsaw. I actually got the vocal from a sample pack, I just pitched it up and did vocal chops to really complete it.
Starting such a great career at such a young age – what would you say has been the biggest challenge and benefits?
I would say the biggest challenge has been trying to get myself out there. I’m 17 so I’ve never been able to go to clubs or anything like that, so it’s been a bit of a struggle getting my name known. The biggest benefit is probably that I have a lot of free time. I’ve had lots of time to work on my music and improve my production skills so I would say that’s made a huge difference.
With the reception your music has gotten – do you feel any pressure on you or rather the opposite?
I would probably say the opposite. I have a few tracks in the works that I feel are stronger than ‘Love With You’ and after seeing the amazing reception from that track I can’t wait to see the reaction from my unreleased ones.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Yeah definitely. I make music almost everyday, so I have a pretty big catalogue of unreleased bangers in the works.
